I just thought I would let you know..I try to be careful with non-organic foods because they use irradiation on a lot more things now.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irradiation
http://www.organicconsumers.org/Irrad/irradfact.cfm
Traders Joes says they don't but won't send it to me in writing. Most greens and spices and nuts are now. Just FYI..
Love, a local very thrifty "broke" organic, grain-free and whole foods eating momma

Natalie,

There are some awesome tutorials out there on couponing; I have learned everything I know from blogs such as www.moneysavingmom.com, which is a great one.

As for doubling coupons: Certain stores, such as Safeway and Albertsons, periodically offer "double" coupons. At Safeway, they will double up to 4 coupons $0.50 or less (which really means they'll just add $0.50 off the value of the coupon). Albertsons will double up to $1.00 off of 4 coupons. Safeway's are every week, Alby's offers them about twice a month or so.

BOGO is "buy one, get one free" and if the store is having BOGO sale, and you have manufacturer's coupons (also known as "q's" in the lingo) you can use 2; one for each product (even the "free one"). If there are store coupons you can also stack those with manufacturers coupons.

I highly reccommend getting started at the Money Saving Mom website and you'll know where to go from there!

I'll try to post more about what I'm learning here too, but I just feel like there are so many better blogs out there about that....

I love my Grocery Outlet, but would love to know how in the world to use coupons and especially doubling them? Confusing to me! What are BOGO'S and doubling? Safeway deal sounds like a steal Carrie, good for you, girl.

I'm always jealous of those who have access to stores like you do. I wish we had a Grocery Outlet in our area.
