Albertson’s Deal: 4 Packages of Steamfresh for $1.11

I was so excited today about a deal I got on some frozen veggies and I just had to share it, since there’s still a chance to capitalize on this deal before Tuesday!
I realized last week when I was cashing in on some double coupons at Albertson’s that their registers have some sort of glitch whereby they will accept any Bird’s Eye Steamfresh coupon for any Bird’s Eye Steamfresh product, regardless of what’s specifically mentioned on the coupon. This happened in my favor at two different Albertson’s now, so there’s a good chance it could work in your favor too.
If you have a preferred savings card (if you don’t, just go to Customer Service and they’ll hand you one), you can get these vegetables on sale for $0.99 each.
There are three diferent steamfresh coupons floating around currently, and if you happen to dumpster dive for Sunday papers you might have accumulated a few extra:
1 coupon is for $0.35 off any Steamfresh Vegetables (1/10 Smart Source)
1 coupon is for $1.50 off any Steamfresh Meals (1/17 Smart Source)
1 coupon is for $1.00 off 2 “Lightly Sauced” Vegetables (available here)
I was able to use all three coupons for 4 regular frozen vegetables, even though the coupon said “Steamfresh Meals” and “Lightly Sauced” veggies. I didn’t want the latter two, which were laden with food additives, yeast extracts (read: MSG) and gluten. I’ll take the plain old veggies, thank you!
When all four rang up to $1.11, I was pretty excited, and only wished I had printed out more coupons!
This is a steal of a deal, so if you have these coupons on hand, get thee to Albertsons!

Organic & Thrifty Coupon Deals
I’ve really been getting into couponing this month! I never really bothered with it before, since about 80% of the coupons are for junk foods or things we don’t buy. BUT, I’ve found that judiciously clipping coupons for things that we do use, and waiting for them to go on sale can add up to significant savings! Read the rest of this entry »
Looks Like We Made It…..

We interrupt our regularly-scheduled Real Food Wednesday for a personal message to the backbone behind Organic and Thrifty…the “wind beneath my wings” as it were….and though this is not my most flattering picture, I post it because it
highlights the extreme handsomeness of my love. And no, I’m not going to sing you a Shaniah Twain song over youtube. Sorry! Read the rest of this entry »
I’m beginning to see the light at the end of my freezer! There’s still lots there, thankfully, and I think I’m just going to keep up this Pantry-Based menu planning and utilize sale items and my CSA to round out the meals. This week I snagged some great deals and was able to stock up on some household essentials as well as pick up
It’s so hard to believe that we are past the ides of January and moving quickly into the twenties! 2010 is off to a pretty good start for me, aside from a really nasty head cold I had been battling since last week. I finally started feeling better after taking some zinc today, and after a few more doses of supplemental zinc, I feel no conjestion! Who knew? Anyway, back to the pantry challenge update:
